Starbursting is a form of brainstorming that focuses on generating questions rather than answers. Our students used it iteratively, with further layers of questioning about the answers to the initial set of questions. They brainstormed and presented their ideas in the form of different types of mind maps viz. spider map, flow map, multi flow map, bubble map, system map and dialogue map. This way to think critically and present creatively was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. They learnt that using the same mind map for all the projects may not be the most effective strategy. It is always good to explore different types of mind maps as per the problem and its area/scope and cause/effect.
