What does it mean to be a teacher in today's world?
A hundred years ago, teachers were considered the source of all new knowledge. Teachers spoke, and pupils listened quietly. They took down notes and memorised definitions and rules so that they could reproduce these in exams to prove that they were good students. But the world has changed. And as teachers, we must ask ourselves whether this mode of teaching is still relevant in a world where information is more accessible than ever before.
Children still need knowledge, but we must be inspirational in how we deliver that knowledge. We, at Shemford Futuristic K-12 School, Auraiya constantly check and review our own teaching practices to make sure we are providing the children in our class with the best possible learning opportunities to prepare them for the modern world. Our Maths faculty Ms Dolly Sharma (Senior Stage) and Ms Deepti Sethi (Foundational Stage) participated in 'Gamification in Mathematics' on March 07, 2021 by Mr Mathew K Thomas, CBSE Moderator. The session was amazing and would help our teachers inculcate the love for Mathematics in our students!
